TESCO party for local residents

Local residents enjoying a Community Celebration event at the TESCO store in Mold last week

Local residents enjoyed a community celebration party at the TESCO Store in Mold on Friday after their Christmas party had been cancelled due to snowy weather.

Residents from Nant Mawr Court, a sheltered housing scheme managed by Clwyd Alyn Housing Association in Buckley, were joined by residents from Llys Jasmine, an Extra Care Housing Scheme managed by Wales & West Housing in Mold, along with others from the wider community including representatives from the Mold Food Bank Service.

“It was a lovely gesture from TESCO to rearrange the event, everyone who attended had a brilliant time,” said Louise Blackwell, Community Development Officer for Clwyd Alyn.

“As well as enjoying a superb three-course meal, thanks to the Elior catering staff the celebration party was a great way to meet others and make friends.

“We’d like to thank everyone who enabled this lovely community event to go ahead, especially Claire Parry, Community Champion at TESCO in Mold and all who volunteered to help out with arrangements on the day.”
Anne Hinchey, Chief Executive of Wales & West Housing, said: “The celebration party brought a smile to all of our residents’ faces after the disappointment of the Christmas lunch being cancelled. Events such as this make a real difference to people’s lives within the community and we’d like to thank Tesco Mold for their work in bringing it together.”
